St. Croix has always been celebrated for its diverse and delicious culinary offerings and there’s no shortage of fantastic dining options to suit a variety of tastes and price points.
Please keep in mind that most restaurants close early, and many are closed on Sundays and Mondays. (There are even a few that close on Fridays) We recommend calling ahead.
Recognizing that there are dozens of other great spots, here are some of our current favorites.

Located 20 minutes to the west of The Landings, Ama is one of our favorite splurge restaurants. The setting - which is steps from the water - is genuinely stunning and their team are creating some of the most delicious and imaginative dishes in the VI. An earlier reservation allows you to experience the stunning view before the sun sets. We are jealous already.

Located just a breath east of town and Fort Christiansvaern, Savant offers a lovely menu and gorgeous indoor / outdoor dining. We usually opt for a casual but elegant evening in their rustic courtyard. This is our one must-visit dinner stop.

Too Chez is a lovely spot in downtown Christiansted (15 minutes away) that has really caught on with locals and visitors alike. A recent location change has done nothing but elevate the dining experience.

A St. Croix institution, Duggan's has been delighting guests since 1983. Located on the east end of the island, make the 25 minute trip to experience their delicious seafood offerings. Dine on the early side to enjoy the beautiful drive and views.
Directly across from Cane Bay beach and about 20 minutes away to the West, The Landing (no relation to us!) offers a casual menu in a laid-back beachfront setting. Offering everything from burgers to daily fish specials, The Landing is the perfect stop after a day at Cane Bay.
Located 25 minutes away on Strand Street in Frederiksted, Flyers is a favorite of ours for a casual yet charming dinner. Located in an historic setting with patio dining options Flyers offers the usual burger fare with numerous elevated specials. Oh, and the fish tacos. We love the fish tacos. Speaking of love, save room for some homemade ice cream.
Located in the heart of the Christiansted boardwalk (16 minutes from home) The Mill offers terrific pizza in a very casual waterfront setting. If it's busy (and it often is) the wait for a Mill pizza can be a while. It's best to call ahead.
Located on the east end of the island (just 20 minutes from your Caribbean vacation home), Deep End offers a relaxed Caribbean living vibe in a marina setting. Open for lunch and dinner, it's a terrific option among St. Croix rentals. Pro Tip: Stop by for their weekly Caribbean night. Reservations recommended!
Casual waterfront / dine-in or take-out
15 minutes from your pool deck
Located on the Christiansted boardwalk, we usually end up at Brew at least once a visit for drinks, burgers, and fish tacos. Great for lunch or dinner it's another great option for the day you are exploring Christiansted. Pro Tip: If you are into feeding big fish, drop a few French fries off the dock right in front of your seat to see some action!
Very casual / dine-in / fun
30 minutes from your pool deck
A true beach bar, Rhythms is a great lunch choice if you are beaching it out West. Located on the water it’s a great place to grab a bite on the way to or from the beach. Sand is welcome. We often eat here when we hit the west end beaches.
Casual / dine-in / calm
30 minutes from your pool deck
Beachside is going to be all about the view. It is a restaurant where we could bring our parents to eat and watch the sunset without them complaining about the loud music. An alternative to a beach bar with sit-down food service on the beach. You can’t go wrong with grilled Mahi or a burger.
Casual / dine-in / take-out
15 minutes / 5 minutes from the airport
It’s a brewery. In an industrial park. Next to the National Guard. So not exactly a tropical retreat, but we still love it! Leatherback is a great place to stop on your way to or from the airport to sample some delicious beer and pub food, and maybe pick up a t-shirt or hat. It’s conveniently located near a huge green space where people play cornhole, frisbee, or run their dogs. Given that it’s just 5 minutes from the airport, it’s our go-to stop for one last taste of St. Croix before heading to the airport,
Mini mart / take out only
5 minutes from your pool deck
Quality Grocers (not to be confused with Quality Foods) is a local secret in Princess on Northside Road. Ask any local for their guilty pleasure to-go lunch sandwich and you’ll likely hear, “the Cubano from Quality.” Offered in spicy or regular (team spicy!) it’s an island favorite. We also love their decadent breakfast sandwiches. Bacon, egg, and cheddar w/everything anyone? What’s more, it’s a great spot to pick up tasty Cruzan patés. Like many hidden gems, the shop is a little rough around the edges, but if you can get past that it’s worth it. Mo runs the store and is terrific. Pro tip: Call ahead to order 340-718-6307.
Very Casual / take out mostly
7 minutes from your pool deck
Maybe the most agreed upon take-out destination on the island, go to Chicken Shack for, well, chicken. More specifically, the rotisserie variety. Chicken Shack is pretty much always busy. We recommend either ordering ahead or planning on having a relaxing drink while patiently waiting. While they do offer tables most folks take their orders to-go. You should too since your pool deck is about 7 minutes away. Pro tip: Order a Johnny Cake for each person in your group. This is a must. Trust us. ☺
Very casual / take out only
5 minutes from your pool deck
Eden, which is 100% vegan, is terrific for two reasons - first, it's just 5 minutes from The Landings and second, the food is both healthy and delicious. You won't find elaborate offerings here but their carry-out sandwiches, salads, and wraps, are great when you want a quick easy healthy lunch.
