Once you send us your flight information we'll arrange to meet you at the airport. From there you can follow us to the property in your rental jeep where we'll give you the keys, provide you with a quick tour of the house, and generally get you get settled in. If you'd prefer to make your way on your own, we're happy to leave the keys in the lock-box.
We try to provide everything you need for your stay including a fully stocked kitchen that includes a coffee maker, blender, toaster oven, chef’s knives, Calphalon cookware, dishwasher, basic spices, dishes, Yetis, dish soap, paper towels… the works! We also provide a 50" smart TV, cable, Apple TV, a portable bluetooth speaker, charging cables, hair dryers, laundry detergent, and shampoo + conditioner. You shouldn't have to bring much more than a toothbrush and toothpaste. (And we even have spares of those in case you forget!)
An assortment of beach / pool towels are located by the sliding door to the pool deck. We also have a “pay it forward” sunscreen bar right below the towels. Use as much as you need (we don’t want you to burn) but consider replenishing a bottle if you go through a few.
We have assembled a toy chest that sits on the pool deck. In it you will find your beach cooler, beach chairs, masks, pool floaties, and even our boogie board. Enjoy!
Each Monday the team comes to collect trash, clean the pool, trim the lawn, and change the water filters. We do our best to keep all these appointments limited to Mondays between 9AM and noon, but holidays and unforeseen events may result in changes. Moses and Joshua handle the ground and collect the trash, Eugene and Miguel keep the pool looking beautiful, and Dave & Christine take care of the rest. Say hi to them!
St. Croix is lovely, but it's not known for its ride-share, taxis, or public transportation. You'll need to rent a car. We recommend a Jeep actually as our roads are, shall we say, rustic. (Which is code for horribly riddled with potholes.) We use and recommend Centerline Car Rentals. Their airport location is super convenient and they have a terrific selection of late model vehicles.
St. Croix is not known for its super fast wifi, however we have the fastest available and use it regularly to work remotely and stream content. We'll provide the log-in and password in your welcome guide before check-in.
Moses comes by every Monday to empty the trash from the outside bin next to the house. There are small trash cans under the sink in the kitchen and in the bathrooms. Please empty those regularly in that large outside bin on the west (or left, if you are facing the sea) side of the house. Please place all trash, including what you put in the outside bin, in a trash bag. (critters!)
We have a first aid kit on the open shelf in the kitchen. While it's not exactly e=mc2, it's our experience that bf+rd=b-a (bare feet + rum drinks = band-aids). Let us know if you use anything and we'll happily restock the kit.
Please note: If 911 does work from your cell phone, please dial 340-772-9111 from your cell phone to reach emergency services for police, fire, and ambulance.
The hospital can be directly reached at 340-778-6311. The hospital is located mid-island here.
Centrally located, the cottage is just minutes away from shopping, restaurants, beaches, and nightlife but a world away from reality.
From Northside Road turn on Dolby Hill Road and make your way up the hill.
Route to the hospital.
